God's Promises - the rainbow

When I was blogging for another blog I made a few blog posts that I want to share again. The first one is this one:

As most of you if not all you who read this know nowadays the rainbow symbolizes gay pride.
However, did you know that the rainbow is actually a promise from God? It's not a symbol for homosexuals, but a symbol for the promises that God gives and keeps.

In Genesis 6 the world was wicked...so wicked, that the Bible says this about mankind: "that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." The Lord then decided that He was going to destroy everything on the face of the earth with a worldwide flood
However, Noah "found grace in the eyes of the Lord."

Noah, finding grace from the Lord, was commanded to build an ark of gopher wood (the famous Noah's Ark).
 After it was built he would gather two of every living creature to bring onto the ark, except for clean beasts and the fowls of the air which he would take seven of.
Noah was able to bring his wife and his three sons and their wives on board the ark with him. Everyone else, though, was killed in the flood. Even though Noah preached to them and told them what was coming, they would not believe.

For forty days and nights it rained and rained and rained. Eventually it was dry enough for Noah and everyone to come out of the ark. The first thing that Noah did after leaving the ark was to build an altar and worship God. God then made a covenant with Noah and everyone else who has lived on the earth afterwards. His covenant was to never destroy the earth again with a flood. The symbol of that covenant is the rainbow.

When I see a rainbow in the sky after it rains, it reminds me that God has never broken His promise. To me it's a symbol of all the promises God has made. There is not one promise that He has broken. To me it's a symbol of God's l♥ve and mercy and His promise to watch over us.

So when my dad mentioned to me that he wanted to get the rainbow back, it made me want to also. I challenge you to be proud of the rainbow, to remind people what it's truly about, and to use it as a witnessing tool. The rainbow is not something to be ashamed of or used in sin. It's something to cherish and hold on to. It's one of God's amazing creations that reminds of who exactly God is. He's our Savior and our Creator.
He's our God.

Another thing that should stay with you when you think of the rainbow is that God keeps all of His promises. He will always l♥ve you.

"I Will Never Leave Thee, Nor Forsake Thee" Hebrews 13:5b God Bless America on 9/11

Thirteen years have gone by. For some of you, it may not seem that long. For some of you this day may have been spent at a grave site, a memorial, or down on your knees talking to God. Or maybe this day was spent trying to forget this day.

Thirteen years ago on this day I was six living in Oklahoma. I was a little first grader who didn't understand what was going on. I remember getting in the car with my dad and driving away from school. I remember the traffic. I remember the gas stations being completely filled up. I remember my dad being shaken up by something. I don't remember if he told me in the car what was going on. I do remember seeing it on the tv for the first time, though. I remember going to NYC a few years later. I remember looking at the memorial, at all those flowers and pictures of lost lved ones. I remember seeing the big hole in the ground, where the towers used to stand...

Overall this day did not affect me like it did others. I may cry at pictures or at videos. I may listen to songs. I may say I remember just like all those posters or like the red, white, and blue flag at half mast blowing in the breeze represents.

However, I cannot say, "I know". I don't know. I don't know what some people are going through. I don't know what it was like to be there, or to even be in the same state at the time.

However, I do know Someone, Who does understand.

God understands. You may scoff or ask, "How could a lving God allow this to happen in the first place?" I don't know all the answers, so I'm not going to pretend to. I do know, though, that I follow a lving Savior, Who is always there. I know He is there every step of the way (Hebrews 13:5). I know that there is peace in the midst of a storm. I may not have been through this one, but I have been through my own storms. They may seem smaller, but I don't know how I would have done it without Him. I couldn't imagine going through this life without Him there. This world is an evil place, full of death and destruction and sorrow, ever since sin has entered in. I do know, though, that in the midst of all this, there's a God Who placed a rainbow in the sky to give us hope (Genesis 9:13-15). I know there's a God Who died on the cross for my sins and yours (John 19) and then rose again on the third day (John 20) to show us lve. I know there's a God that can make me feel safe and in peace (Psalm 4:8). I also know that this peace, mankind can't explain (Philippians 4:6-7).

This day may be hard, but it doesn't have to be spent all alone.

**I linked all the verses to a Bible website, for those who don't have a Bible or just want to see them quickly.

God Bless You All and God Bless America!

Disney Week

So it's been a little bit since my last post...sorry about that...

This week at my job it was Disney week and as a bonus my brother Buddy was able to come.

On Monday it was Lion King day...We made paper plate lion king masks....there was a lot of roaring lol.

On Wednesday I had the privilege of being in charge again. It was Frozen day and in honor of Queen Elsa we made snow paint

My brother decided that green glitter would be perfect to add to it :)

Today we made monster slime....ooey gooey and ewwww as some of the kids exclaimed. The link for this uses it for halloween, but we used it for Monster Inc. Day

I have more to write about, but my best friend, Trixie, is leaving for Florida next Wednesday :'( , and I must go see her today.

On the bright side, my boyfriend and two of my friends are going to the Wilds of New England tomorrow for their young adult retreat. Feel free to click on the links to check it out.

Have a great rest of your week and a great weekend!
God Bless!

Chill Kind of Day

Yesterday was my brother Robbie's first birthday. He's 1!!!!!

He had great fun stuffing cup cake in his face and playing with his presents. I got him a stuffed polar bear, which he LVES!!!! lol.
How could you not lve me????

So it was my first day being in charge of my preschool group. I would say it went pretty well. We only had two kids today. It was a chill kind of day....nothing too organized. They played on the play ground a lot. They lved putting me and the counselor, who was working with me, in "jail". We broke out, but they always managed to put us back in...
They also played with the color wheel.

Each color would mean they would have to do a different thing. For example,
red --> jump
blue --> run
green --> skip
yellow --> walk backwards

They also had great fun with the sprinkler. I would turn the water down really low and then up quickly and it would make the water shoot up in the air (of course getting me wet as well -_- ).

Like I said, today is a chill kind of day....so not much to report...
On Wednesday, I'm taking my brother Buddy to the amusement park....CAN'T WAIT!!!!!
Have a great day!

They Just Keep Getting Older...

So today my brother Buddy turns 4...
It almost feels like yesterday, that my parents came into the living room and told us we were going to have another sibling. You see. I already have three sisters and the youngest was six when we found out there was going to be another one. We were surprised but happily so. I've always wanted a brother and I am thrilled to have not just one but two now.
Today for my brother's birthday, our neighbor gave us their swing set and two men from our church came over. Both of them have been friends of mine since I was eight and they took to Buddy like he was one of their brothers. Buddy, of course, invited them to have lunch with us and they are all happily playing Mario Kart in the living room while we wait for our scrumptious meal of McDonald's chicken nuggets and fries.

*sigh* time just flies and sometimes you just want it to slow down. I encourage everyone to make sure they spend some quality time with lved ones...maybe do something they really enjoy.

My week 5 of camp ended today. Next week my co-counselor will not be there, which puts me in charge. Time to test exactly how well I do with leading a group of preschoolers.

Well I'll leave you all to your weekend. I hope it's a great one!

Wonderful World of Colors

Today at the summer camp I work at there were only two kids in my group. Last week my co-counselor had eight kids....I was on vacation....whew what a difference it makes. Two kids is a lot easier to keep an eye on lol.

We are exploring the world of colors this week.
On Tuesday we learned our colors in English and Spanish. Listening to their versions of the Spanish words was priceless.
We also read the book Pete the Cat: I L♥ve My White Shoes. For those of you who have never read this book. This is perfect for teaching some of the colors and for a good moral of being happy with what you have.

Yesterday I was sick and did not join my group of wearing our favorite colors. My favorite color is green btw....lve pink also :)

Today, though, since I was feeling better I joined my group again and we read Mouse Paint. Another great story!

 This story is about three little mice that discover the wonder of mixing colors.
After we read this story, we let the kids paint with the colors red, yellow, and blue. The kids shouted in joy when they discovered they could make orange, purple, and green just like the mice.

Later in the day we let the two kids run. While they were running they were wearing white shirts. My co-counselor and I along with two other people had spray bottles of tie dye. We sprayed them as they ran by. They were a colorful mess of red, green, and blue when they were done.
*Warning to those who try this: It will get on the skin through the shirt and of course you can't always spray true. One of the kids had a tie-dyed arm and face afterwards :). If you quickly go clean it off afterwards, though, most of it will come off right away with soap and water.*

Here's a site for getting the tie-dye mixture. Just put it in spray bottles afterwards for a color run (or you could just tie-dye a shirt)

God Bless!

This is Me

Hi there!

This is just an introductory post to my new blog "Life With Me". I don't know how many of you may have read a blog called DolzDreamzzz, but if you have you may recognize me from that :). Currently my best friend's dolz shop is closed at the moment. So I've decided to spread my wings and try out my own blog.

To those who don't know me:
I am a sophomore in college (Senior I guess technically cause I go to a two year college at the moment). I major in early childhood education. I have been working with children since I was 15. I currently work at a summer camp, that I LVE!

My relationship status....hmmm ♥♥♥ I have been in a relationship with this young man for four years and he is awesome! That's all I have to say at the moment about that...

Through this blog, I'm going to address the ups and downs of my relationship with God. Let's get that out in the open: I'm a Christian :) as in I believe that Jesus Christ died and rose again for me and now I am born again. What a joy to say that!
I will also be addressing the awesome things I do with the children I interact with, including my brothers whom you will know as Buddy and Robbie.
I also dabble in photography and will have pictures included.
